Electric vehicles' quickness and power constantly evolve each year, and the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N demonstrates the technological evolution of electric over gas. Getting behind the wheel of the Ioniq 5 N was like taking off in a rocket ship, pinning me back in my seat as the 600 horsepower and 540 lb-ft of torque erupted, propelling me forward with a ferocity I rarely experienced in a gasoline-powered vehicle. Hyundai’s refined N e-shift virtual gearbox is a marvel, delivering lightning-fast shifts that mimic the visceral experience of a high-performance internal combustion engine. The car feels incredibly responsive, eager to devour corners and accelerate with an urgency that borders on manic. The 800V dual-motor all-wheel-drive system ensures traction is never an issue, even when pushing the car to its limits. Price: The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N's starting MSRP is $60,900, which includes all the necessary standard equipment. The ride quality is surprisingly composed for a car with this level of performance. The adaptive dampers soak up road imperfections while maintaining excellent body control. The brakes are powerful and progressive, providing confidence-inspiring stopping power. Inside, the Ioniq 5 N has a premium cabin with supportive sports seats that hold you firmly in place during spirited driving. The infotainment system is user-friendly and boasts a crisp display. Hyundai’s innovative virtual gearbox system, N e-shift, is new for 2025 and offers even sharper shifts and enhanced responsiveness. The Regenerative Braking system is also more aggressive, with more control and one-pedal driving. In the city, the Ioniq 5 N is surprisingly manageable. Its instant torque provides effortless acceleration from stoplights. On the highway, it truly comes alive. The powerful electric motors propel the car forward with exhilarating force, while the refined suspension keeps it planted and composed through corners. Powertrain/Battery: A powerful 800V dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a large-capacity 84 kWh battery pack produce 600 horsepower and 280 miles of long-range performance. A 350kW DC fast charger can charge the 800V battery up to 80% in just 20 minutes. A 240V home charger will take 5 to 8 hours, while a standard household outlet (120V) takes about 24 hours to replenish the battery. Comfort/Convenience: The Ioniq 5 N prioritizes comfort despite its sporty nature. Supportive sports seats provide excellent lateral support during spirited driving while the cabin remains surprisingly quiet and refined. Advanced features like a panoramic sunroof, a premium audio system, and a user-friendly infotainment system enhance the overall driving experience. Safety: Hyundai's latest suite of advanced driver-assistance systems is standard in the 2025 Ioniq 5 N and includes Forward Collision-Avoidance assist for pedestrians, cyclists, and junction turning; Lane-Keeping and Lane-Following assist; Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance assist; Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance assist; Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go; and Driver Attention Warning and Forward Collision-Avoidance assist.
