After a week behind the wheel of the all-new 2025 Audi SQ6 e-Tron, I was convinced that this new electric SUV sets a new level of EV performance. Beyond the spec sheets, its fusion of effortless speed and tech-laden luxury was impressive.

Power/Performance:

The 2025 Audi SQ6 e-Tron is an all-new performance model built on Audi's new Premium Electric (PPE) platform, in collaboration with Porsche. Key introductions include dual motors that generate 510 horsepower with a groundbreaking 800-volt architecture for ultra-fast charging, and the "Active Lighting" grille is a head-turner both day and night.

Once I got behind the wheel and stepped on the pedal, it accelerated from 0 to 60 in just 4.2 seconds, thanks to its 483 horsepower and instant boost to 510 horsepower, accompanied by 590 lb-ft of torque. The power was smooth and intense, making highway merging and passing an exercise in quiet control. Selecting the Dynamic mode firms the adaptive air suspension and the rear e-torque vectoring differential, making this midsize SUV feel nimble on winding roads. The brake regeneration was also strong and well-balanced.

Interior:

The modern interior of the SQ6 features high-quality materials, including an 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a high-definition 14.5-inch touchscreen that is easy to navigate. A co-pilot display is also available as an option for passengers to control media without distracting the driver.

The Active Lighting Grille is a significant highlight of the SQ6 model. The S-specific bodywork and standard 21-inch wheels provide the SQ6 with a sporty stance that stands out on the road. Inside, the S sport seats proved to be exceptionally comfortable and supportive during long hours of driving. The interior design, along with the use of premium materials, creates a serene and upscale environment.

Models/Price:

The SQ6 e-Tron offers three configurations, starting at $72,900 for the Premium trim, $78,595 for the Premium Plus, and $80,595 for the Prestige.

Battery/Range/Charging:

The 100-kWh battery delivered a range of 270–280 miles in mixed driving. It also features an 800-volt system with a 270-kW peak charging capability, allowing the vehicle to recharge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 23 minutes.

Although the Audi SQ6 faces stiff competition from the BMW iX M60, Mercedes-AMG EQE, Tesla Model Y Performance, and Porsche Macan 4S Electric, it sets a new benchmark for performance in luxury electric SUVs.
